To start my UV I had to check many tutorials on youtube including the ones the lecturers made for us on the trello board.

I even looked back at the blog i made for the obstacle course i did for the cube , cylinder and arm.

my first action was to go to maya > UV editor > then went to UV editor again and clicked automatic to let my UV be individually shown on the map.

To get the colors for my character I had to create a color swatch palette. I took examples from the characters of Roki.
The purpose of doing the UV is to add color from a template to each specific part of the character I've made. In order to do that I have decided to organize all the parts after it has unfolded all the faces (shown in the picture below)

for example these are all tassel pieces that I have organized

i made a swatch but it was too plain and had some colors to be missing
so i decided to add more of the colors in larger block size

I had done all the UVs and had the hair to do. Doing hair UV was the hard part because i had each hair strand a certain color. To solve the issue I had decided to planar each hair strand
